What You’ll Do:
We seek passionate, hardworking, and dedicated college students who want to support agriculture and community service. This internship is ideal for self-learners comfortable using study tools to enhance or gain new skills. The ideal candidate will love working with children, especially those between the ages of 4 and 13, and be comfortable in a people-facing role.
- Manage the farm stand’s day-to-day operations, ensuring smooth market flow and customer interaction during all market hours.
- To support planning, execution, and administrative needs, the Garden Leader will be present on-site during market hours and assist with off-site tasks during non-market hours.
- Lead fun and educational activities for kids (ages 4-13), including arts and gardening projects, while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
- Work alongside the team to partner with youth organizations to enhance the farm stand and community garden experience and expand community engagement in Harlem.
- Assist with growing and caring for seedlings in the greenhouse, learning best practices for sustainable agriculture.
- Utilize technology to support the garden’s greenhouse operations, marketing, and educational initiatives.
- Support Social Media & Promotions Help create content (photos, videos, graphics) for social media platforms to highlight the farm stand and garden. This includes assisting with social media campaigns and creating promotional graphics to increase engagement and awareness.

- Flexibility to work on-site during farm stand hours and off-site when necessary.
- Experience with Graphic Design or Social Media: Knowledge of design software (e.g., Canva, Adobe) is a plus, as well as familiarity with social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, etc.) to support promotional efforts.

- Adaptability: Comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced environment where priorities can shift, especially in outdoor or weather-affected settings.
- Team-Oriented Mindset: While independent work is encouraged, a strong candidate will thrive in a collaborative team environment, contributing ideas and working cohesively to achieve shared goals.
- Interest in Digital Marketing: Experience or a desire to learn about promoting events and programs online to engage with the community.
