Mission
We transform the shed rooftop into a pollinator garden that supports bees, butterflies, and birds while bringing neighbors together to learn, grow, and care for the environment.
Shed Mural Project
Earlier this season, we partnered with Greenthumb, the Audubon Mural Project, and Marthalicia Matarrita, a local artist, to complete a stunning mural featuring Baltimore Oriole birds, purple coneflowers, and sunflowers as symbols of resilience.

Growing Careers, Strengthening Community
At Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project, we place young adults from Harlem and the Bronx at the center of real, meaningful work. Our career readiness program equips interns with hands-on experience in urban agriculture and agribusiness — from managing greenhouse operations and growing seedlings to piloting drones and using AI technology to monitor plant health at St. Nicholas Miracle Garden. Participants don't shadow from the sidelines — they lead projects, build professional skills, and create community impact they can carry into any career path. Whether you're a young adult ready to grow, a funder invested in workforce development, or a neighbor who wants to see our community thrive, this program is for all of us.

Audubon Mural Project in New York City’s Community Gardens
In this mural painted by artist Marthalicia Matarrita, Baltimore Orioles perch amid a cluster of native purple coneflowers and sunflowers. As part of the Audubon Mural Project—a public-art initiative drawing attention to birds that are vulnerable to extinction from climate change—NYC Parks’ Art in the Parks program and NYC Parks GreenThumb worked with the National Audubon Society, Gitler &_____ Gallery, and local artists to design murals in community gardens across the city.
