Food Scrap Drop-Off in The Bronx

Exciting News! Our Food Scrap Drop-Off in The Bronx is a Success!

Thanks to the generous support of the Pollination Project Foundation grant and the NYC Department of Sanitation (DSNY), which provided kitchen counter bins, we successfully launched our food scrap drop-off in the Bronx in August. With the enthusiasm of our Mini Composters in the Kids Club, who encouraged their families to separate food scraps and the active participation of community members.

With Dior St. Hillaire assistance in processing the food scraps, we aim to collect over 1000 lbs before November 24. Our kids club, serving ages 4-13, incentivizes participation by offering $2 towards fruits and vegetables, with an extra $2 bonus after their third food scraps drop-off.

As a bonus, our program helped us spread the word about DSNY’s citywide compost curbside collection, which will start on October 6.

Together, we’re positively impacting our environment and reducing food waste. Let’s keep up the momentum and continue to make a difference!
