Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project, Inc. (UBHP) promotes health equity by providing communities in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx access to nutritious food, wellness resources, and educational opportunities. Our programs and initiatives empower individuals and families to lead healthier lives.

What You’ll Do:

As the Youth Program Coordinator Intern, you will oversee our farmers markets’ day-to-day operations, ensuring the Kids Club’s success and youth programming. You will develop, organize, and implement engaging and educational activities for kids aged 4-13. Additionally, you’ll collaborate with vendors, youth organizations, and community members to support youth engagement and education and foster partnerships that benefit our mission. This role requires a strong on-site presence during market hours and off-site work during non-market hours.

    • College students with a passion for agriculture, community service, and youth education
    • A self-learner who can utilize available tools to enhance or develop new skills
    • Comfortability with being people-facing and working directly with kids aged 4-13
    • Hardworking and dedicated to our mission of enriching the lives of our community members
    • Ability to work independently and collaborate with vendors, youth organizations, and partners
    • Prior experience in youth programming or education is preferred but not required
    • Must pass a background check

Creativity: Bring fresh ideas and enthusiasm to develop innovative youth programming and activities

Time Management: Effectively balance multiple tasks and priorities, including both market and off-site responsibilities

Team Player: Collaborate effectively with a diverse team, vendors, community partners, and youth program leaders
