Who We Are

Uptown & Boogie Healthy Project, Inc. (UBHP) promotes health equity by providing communities in Upper Manhattan and the Bronx access to nutritious food, wellness resources, and educational opportunities. Our programs and initiatives empower individuals and families to lead healthier lives.

What You’ll Do

As a Community Engagement & Outreach Intern, you’ll help connect UBHP with local communities and stakeholders. Responsibilities include:

  • Collaborating in-person (hybrid) at our NYC coworking space to exchange ideas and drive initiatives forward.
  • Assisting in organizing and promoting community events and wellness workshops.
  • Developing outreach strategies to engage residents and community partners.
  • Supporting volunteer coordination and program facilitation.
  • Creating outreach materials, including flyers, social media posts, and informational content.
  • Gathering feedback from community members to inform future programming.

What You’ll Have

  • Experience using Slack for team communication and collaboration.
  • Ability to quickly learn and navigate new digital tools and platforms.
  • Interest or experience in community engagement, sustainability, or social impact.
  • Demonstrated reliability and follow-through on commitments.
  • Strong collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively in team settings and contribute to shared goals.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a strong ability to anticipate needs, take initiative, and see tasks through to completion.
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail—you take pride in your contributions.
